2. Since God has sanctified us we have also been made perfected and all of this is due to Christ’s once and for all sacrifice for the sin of the world!
4. Our hope of eternal life was promised to us before the world began, and since God cannot lie His promises are always kept!
6. Christ is not like the earthly physical high priests of Israel who had to repeatedly offer the Old Covenant sin sacrifices. Christ suffered just ONCE to put away ALL sin, once and for all time (see also verse 25).
8. The significance of the Hebrews 7 passage in verses 26 and 27 is that our High Priest Jesus Christ is not like the Old Covenant high priests who had to sacrifice for their own sin before they could even offer up a sacrifice for the Old Covenant people. Christ was perfectly sinless being holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and higher than all so that He could offer His life just once for the sin of the world!
