Note: The answers/comments that follow are not meant to be the only answer that is correct. The answers/comments recorded below are meant to be used to determine if you think you have grasped what the Bible is saying about a particular subject as determined by your personal evaluation of your responses as compared to those which have been suggested below.

2. He (Father God), chose us (inclusive of the whole world population), to be in him (the him here is the Father’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ), to be holy and blameless before him (him here is the Father). The phrase in the Revised Standard Version (RSV) Bible that reads “that we should be” is a poor translation and if you go to the Internet website biblehub.com/interlinear you will see that it should read “to be for us.”
That makes a big difference in understanding because it is actually saying that when Christ comes and indwells us at the instant of salvation, He, Christ, becomes for us to the Father as our being holy and blameless. This is not anything we did, but rather because of what Christ did for us on the Cross of Calvary!

To access the Greek to English Interlinear Bible on the Internet go to the website biblehub.com/interlinear and left click your mouse in the Multi box and hold the mouse key down while you move down the drop down window to Greek and then release the mouse button. Then enter Ephesians 1:4 in the search box and select the search icon and the verse will come up in Greek and English.

3. God put this plan in place because He knew humans could not return pure agape love to Him unless they had a will otherwise the love would not be genuine. That will, however, can be misused as it was in the Garden of Eden as it was by Adam and Eve. By crucifying the human on the Cross with Christ in the spirit realm (Galatians 2:20) the Adamic sin nature could be removed from the person and replaced with God’s divine nature at the point of salvation. Christ would then be the spiritual life of the believer because Christ was and is the spotless, sinless, Lamb of the Father which pleases Him and not our trying to be good through our self works! More on the topic of love in Learning Activity 16.

6. ALL men have sinned!

8. The penalty for all sin is death! The death spoken of here is a spiritual death not a physical or biological death. More on this in later Learning Activities.

11. God took care of our sin in His plan by making provision to place (birth) His Son Jesus in us.

13. When we hear the gospel and believe it and believe in Christ, we are sealed, made permanent, in the Holy Spirit. This is described as being “in him (Christ)” or another common biblical term is being “born again” or “birthed.”
