Paul’s Contrast of the Covenants

2. Old Covenant = “not of the letter,” “for the letter killeth.” New Covenant = “but of the spirit,” “but the spirit giveth life.”

4. Old Covenant = “though our outward man perish.” New Covenant = “yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

6. Old Covenant = “the things which are seen,” “the things which are seen are temporal.” New Covenant = “the things which are not seen,” “the things which are not seen are eternal.”

8. Old Covenant = “if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved.” New Covenant = “we have a building of God, an home not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

10. Old Covenant = “For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon.” New Covenant = “with our house which is from heaven.”

12. Old Covenant = “For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed…mortality.” New Covenant = “but clothed upon…life.”
