Many significant things happen to a person when they become a Christian. Using your Bible, look up the following verses and write them in the space provided. As you proceed answer the questions as they appear.

In the above verse, we see that at the moment of our believing in Christ we are baptized (placed into) the body of Christ. The Koine Greek word here for "baptized" is a form of the word "baptizo" which means to be immersed into something and the something in this case is the fourth dimension spiritual body of Christ! Some Christians think that the baptism being spoken of here is water baptism but that is not the case. This fourth dimensional action takes place due to the Spirit of God placing us into His body (see the content of this verse).

The word "he" in the above verse is referring to Christ. We can tell this is so by the content of the entire passage, and in particular from verse thirteen.

6. Ephesians 5:23 _______________________________________________________________

When Christ was here on earth in a physical body that was provided by God through the virgin Mary, Jesus was referred to as Jesus of Nazareth. After His death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus came back in spirit only (not as Jesus of Nazareth) and now indwells all believers and they are in Him. This reciprocal indwelling of He in us and we in Him is possible because we are talking about something that exists in the fourth dimensional spirit realm. In the third dimension reciprocal indwelling would be impossible (two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time), but in the spirit realm this is not a problem. Jesus at the present time has a body, as we have seen from the scriptures above, but His body now is not a physical body. His present body, the church, is a spiritual body and Christ Himself is the head of that body (His body).

7. In review, how is it that Christians are in Christ? __________________________________

The understanding of being in Christ and Christ being in the believer is one of the most often repeated truths in the Bible. This truth can be found by looking in the Scriptures for such phrases as "in Christ," "in him," "in God," "in the Lord," etc. The following is a listing of scriptures that I have that illustrate this great truth. You probably will not read all of the verses associated with this list, however it would be helpful in renewing your mind to this truth if you select a few and read them from your Bible.
